| Some painters are known all around the world like Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet and many others. Others, however, are less known but have as much talent. It's the case of Mr. Yves Thorn, artist of our region, more specifically from St-Pierre-les-Becquets. Mr. Thorn has discovered his passion of art around the age of 16 years old, but has been devoting himself to it for the ten past decade. He has made, up to now, more than 600 canvases representing for the majority landscapes painted from pictures. |

As we can see, this talented artist draws his inspiration from nature and the landscapes of our region to create. The image on the left illustrates an historic monument, located in St-Pierre-les-Becquets, the manor house. |
On the right, everyone will recognize Quebec's Frontenac castle, structure that Mr. Thorn has painted many times. This particular painting is now on the other side of the Atlantic ocean, more specifically in Europe. |

| Why has he chosen painting?
"Because it's relaxing, it gives me the opportunity to go out and to discover some new things by talking with other artists during expositions and symposiums that I go to", he says. His futures projects are to enlarge is workroom so he'll be able to paint many more canvas. For the moment, Mr. Thorn paints between 50 and 60 canvas a year and takes 1 to 5 days to realize one. In conclusion, Mr. Thorn can also paint special orden for customers.
